I've Been To The Ranch

Well, as you can see from these real great photos I've been out to The Ranch. It's where my Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Ted live and it's where I go to play.

Of course, I have some duties that I perform when I'm there. If I don't keep a close watch on things the deer and all kinds of other kritters will try to come into our territory. Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Ted really appreciate me doing my duties. But, on this day I was just playing.

These pictures were taken on a special day. It's called Memorial Day and it's the day we remember all the working dogs who have given themselves in service to humanity. It's important to remember those things.

On this day I ran real fast and showed off for the humans. I also swam in the swimming pool and I chased my balls. Aunt Jeanne had special treats for me too! It was a fun day.

I hope you had a fun day on Memorial Day too.

Love,

Rowan

  • My dear Rowan,

Mighty fine pictures of a bishop at rest! If only more in the episcopacy would follow your lead and take more time off this whole schism thing would probably just fade away!

    Yours in Christ

  • wow, great pictures, Rowan. Swimming in a swimming pool. Scout would love to do that. by the way, she sometimes plays tug with the ball too. And makes unusual noises. We're trying to figure out how to get the sounds on one blog or the other.

    happy memorial day!

  • I love you too Fran! I wish I could snuggle you.

    Dear Bishop Clumber,
How right you are. When I am doing all my duties, I don't have time to foment schism. I think if everyone would just play and do their duties the Anglican Communion would run so smoothly we could put it back in the hands of the humans.

    Thanks Dogblogger.

Dear Diane, Scout is probably saying how much she loves you, or how much she loves her ball. Either way, whenever we dogs are talking it's about love or some sort. We like love.

Awww, ferndoggle, you're swooning over me.

As your dog bishop I want to remind you each that you were made by a kind God who continually pours out His love on you. God takes joy in your running and jumping and barking. You were made and placed here for a reason and you are deeply, deeply, loved.

  • Thanks, Bishop Rowan, for recognizing that cats deserve your care also. My brother and I have been especially neglected for the past few days as one of our mothers has gone to visit her son. The other one just sits and knits - and she won't let us in her lap while she's knitting. Of course, we do get rubs and scratches between what she calls rows.

I think extra treats are called for tonight in light of our deprived state of snuggling.

  • Oooh, a ranch and a pool. How nice. I know that you and Lindy had a wonderful time. Is there a picture of Lindy in her swim suit?

I know that Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Ted loved having you there to keep watch.

  • Me and Lindy are doing great. I just moved us to a new place that has a special door just for dogs. Appropriately enough it's called a dog door. I love that!

    Love and licks to all!
