It's A Dog's Life

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

I want to show everyone my new coat. It's blue and those two yellow stripes glow in the dark so that Lindy can always find me, even if it's dark. Nice, huh? Plus, if it's raining, I won't get my pretty fur wet because it's a raincoat on the outside. On the inside is flannel which is a kind of material especially for keeping dogs warm. You can see that I look real good in it too.

Lindy took me to the lake today. There wasn't very much water in the lake so I just chased some birds and got to run in the mud which was a little scary. I did manage to get out of it though. You can see my muddy paws in this picture.

In these next two shots I am getting cuddled by Lindy in my car towel. Lindy says that the towel is really just an old bed sheet but it is still real special for me because it's what I snuggle in.

You can see a little bit of Lindy in this one. She's a real good guardian. I'll bet not every guardian can take pictures of herself.

So, that's it for my big day. I hope you all had a fun day too and that your lake is full.

Love,

  • The new coat looks very dashing on you, Rowan. I'm glad you had such a nice day.

Did you know it's in the colors of the Swedish flag? I like flags (not as much as I like dogs), so that's why I noticed.

  • Dear Rowan,

You look spectacular in your new raincoat! And you look a fright with your muddy paws, but in a charming devil-may-care manner.

I'm so happy because I learned how to add blogs to my Yahoo page. Now I'll get to read your blog and see your handsome pix when you and Lindy post them. She won't have to write me reminder emails anymore.

Thanks for keeping us posted on your swell life with Lindy.

  • I thought I left a comment here! Blogger is doing this a lot lately!!
I know I typed it in...

Anyway, what I said was something like this...

You are too, too cute! TOO cute.

And your jacket just ups the cute ante.

In fact I find that both you and the lovely Lindy are very adorable inside and out. I want to come hang out with you guys!

  • Where did Lindy get your coat, Rowan? You look so dashing in it! I bet Jasper would like a coat just like it.

    Your friend,

  • You look like a superhero in that coat!! I hope it's keeping you warm.

  • Happy Randay Randi! I am hoping to have lots of big adventures in my new coat.

Yes, ferndoggle, I do look like a superhero. Glad you noticed.

Doxy, you should definitely get one of these coats for Jasper. Mine makes me feel real special. I got this one from Santa Paws so I guess it was made at the North Pole. Inside is a label that says "BigPaws" so we think Santa might have gotten it here: http://simplyshe.com/pets.html Lindy says that a good place to get dog clothes is PetCo because they have good sales. You can't buy something if it's not for sale. Just so you know.

Thanks Balboa. You're cool too, and you have big ears!

Thanks Fran. I think you're real cute too. And, if you evea come to Texas you can have some fun with me and Lindy because we really do have some good times. I would love to lick you and maybe even sit in your lap. I'd be real good.

Yea Aunt Pat. Tell Stretch I'm ready for that came of chase!

Thanks Paul. I think you are dashing even without one of these real swell coats. I am happy that I remind you of your hobby. My hobby would be Sweedish meatballs more than the Sweedish flag. But, that's just me.

I love you all my great blog friends. You are the best, I'll tell you what. Licks and woofs all around.

    Love,

    Rowan

  • Wow Rowan, safe, warm AND stylish! You look so good in that jacket. I'll bet all the other dogs look up to you.

I'm glad you had such a fun day at the lake.

  • Good choice, Rowan. Flags don't taste very good and Swedish meatballs do.

By Blogger Paul, at 9:22 AM

  • Presbyterian Gal... they do. The other dogs do look up to me. You look like a nice human.

You are a smart human Paul. Me and Lindy like you quite a lot. And, as I always say about those meatballs, bone appetite.

    Love,

    Rowan

  • Hey pal.

I wanted to come over and see you the other night since your light was on and your car was home. There was one problem, though... there were some kids outside your doorstep with a big barking German Shepard-looking dog. We decided not to try passing him.

Anyway, your safety jacket looks great. I just love mud & I'm glad you got to spend some time in it. When I was in California I played in the mud and then noticed that someone left the door open on my Grandma's Lexus... so I jumped in and coated the inside of her car with mud-art. I though it looked great!

    Have a good weekend,
    Romeo

  • Wow, those sure are some muddy paws, Rowan! And I like your new jacket too. I have one kind of like it with white reflecty stripes for night-time safety. :)

  • Wow, Rowan,

your Jacket is the Best! It is Jaunty and that is Right.

You must like getting your Picture Taken because you look right at the Camera.

I do not like to have my Picture Taken.

Guess what? I had a Stick Poking Out of my Pooter today! Mom had to pull it out. Wonder how thathappened!

It's great to have Humans to Pull Stuff out of your Butt. We can't do it 'cause of the Lack of 'Posables. I'm just saying...

  • Rowan, You are so handsome in your new coat. The color is flattering, because it goes well with the color of your fur. Lindy knows how to pick them.

I hope that you will not get full of yourself and begin to lord it over Lindy and your other friends. Remember, even if you are the most handsome, you must continue to be the same good and humble dog you always were.

By Blogger June Butler, at 8:04 PM

  • I will try to be a humble boy Grandmère Mimi but sometimes it is hard. I know it's good though.

Grendle, my guardian said that we were definitely not going to comment on the stick in your butt. That is your own problem. But, I appreciate you saying that I look "jaunty." I like that word.

Yeah, refelcty stripes are great aren't they Poppy? I am kind of thinking about having them put on all my clothes but I haven't run it by Lindy yet. Sometimes she and I aren't on the same fashion page if you know what I mean.

I am so happy I got to see you yesterday Romeo. Too bad we couldn't chase off those human children. Sometimes guardians are just not as much fun as they could be if they'd let us nip at the heels of annoying people.

Those kids bother me too but when i talked to Lindy about it she said, "Hey,they've got to be somewhere." And she said it in a way that makes me think she isn't going to let me chase them away either. Lindy says we have to make room for everyone in the world and they are nice kids anyway. Better that they hang out at our house than around the corner where they smoke pot all day. I still woof at them though.

See you around the neighborhood tough guy!

Love to all my dog friends and all my human friends.

    Rowan
