It's A Dog's Life

I've been on a shopping trip. Lindy took me to the store for SmartPets so I could pick out some new toys and treats.

Here are a couple shots of me outside the store.

Of course I had to wait for Lindy to find her glasses, find her wallet, find this, and find that. I do wish she would get a little more organized before we go out. Like me.

You can see, I have my vest, my harness, my leash, my collar. You can't see it in this shot but I have my dog jewelery on too. I am all organized and ready to go.

Here are some shots of me doing my shopping:

I hope you are having a fun day and that if you get to go shopping you can find some nice treats.

Love,

Rowan

  • Hi Rowan! You are a very official-looking shopper in your vest and harness and all. I think I have the very same harness as you! It is my car seatbelt harness. Mine is red though. And a bit smaller I think.

  • I would sure like to have a red harness. But, it might clash with my orange vest. I don't want that.

My guardian said that you are so cute in your basket that everyone should go over to your site and see the photos of it. And, just personally, I found your instructions very helpful. I can see that you have to have very good obedience skills to ride a bicycle.

  • Rowan, would you please pray for Scout? she is feeling a little low because of her sore. not quite her usual peppy self (although she still has an appetite, thankfully).

  • Oh, Diane, I will bark my prayers and offer Howlingmas service when full moon occurs for Scout, too.

And Rowan, Lindy sure knows how to make a dog's day! In our part of Canada, dogs cannot go inside the shops the way they can in Texas, but Nich picks me up and nobody would dare tell him what for because he is 6'4" and a burly kind of guy!

He makes me feel soooo proud! And then he does some fool thing and I have to nip him back into line!

Oh, and I was just kidding about you having to convert to be my friend. I was just riling MadPriest up over at OCICBW!

  • I replied to you over at OCICBW Misty. I am a Methodist, you know. I love the Methodists. It drives my guardian nuts but I am what I am.

Scout, I will woof some prayers for you and I'll get Lindy to pray for you too. You have to get all better so you can take care of your guardian.

And you all should probably pray for me too. I ate a whole pizza tonight. Lindy was not very happy about it and I am feeling a little... Well, full. Next time I am going to leave a slice for her. I think the ugliness of this whole episode could have been avoided if I'd just left a slice for her.

I love you all... a special nuzzle to Scout.

  • oh rowan, I will and scout will pray for you... a whole pizza!!!

By Blogger Diane M. Roth, at 7:19 PM

  • It was a small pizza and Lindy had already given away two slices. But, I am still taking it kind of easy. That human food weighs pretty heavy in the belly, you know.

After that Lindy opened a can of soup but didn't put any of it on my kibble. I thought that was kind of mean and unforgiving of her. But, I accept my punishment. It is going to take all my skills of being cute to get out of this one.

    Love to you both,

    Rowan

  • Oh Rowan how beautiful is your conversion story. Not sure what Methodists are but if they have treats, they are surely doing something right.

    Sleep tight, guys.

  • Dear Lady Mistabel,

You are certainly right about the Methodists. And they are real spiritual treats too. A pretty and nice lady dressed like Jesus comes out of the church and gives them to you. It's almost as worshipful as running rel fast and then jumping.

    Love,

    Rowan

  • Hi Rowan,
Mommy went to a methodist school and got married in a Methodist church but she is Baptist so I think I am Baptist too.
Your comments section is asgood as your post.A whole pizza ?Did your tummy hang to the ground ?
You look very efficient in your vest!

  • we're both methodists (basically) so it's okay with us.

you did a good job at the store. i love the way they put the treat barrels down real low so that if the humans aren't paying attention, we can steal a couple!

have you had a "texas toothpick" yet? i get them at the store across the street... you know, by the fabric store. i have a whole bag full, if you ever want to try one.

i'm having a real flea problem and it's annoying us both. that frontline plus is expensive stuff... so it should work, shouldn't it??? i'm so itchy and i have sores cuz i'm really sensitive to flea saliva (i think it's called an allergy or something). anyway, i hope you don't eat any more pizza. and leave those ripe, red tomatoes on the vines for lindy. you shouldn't eat any more human food for a while.

    see you later.

  • Dear Frasier,

It's true, the comments are as much fun as the posts.

Methodists are a lot of fun. You can be that, even if it is different from what your guardian is. My guardian is an Anglican and I am a Methodost.

Lindy always says that I just became Methodist for the treats and she says it like that might be kind of a bad thing. But, can you think of a better reason? I can't. Plus, I never see any sheep or donkeys at the Episcopal churches around here. Clearly, Methodism is the religion of choice for the animal world.

THE Guardian told us that we couldn't say anything about Baptists today.

    Love,

    Rowan

  • Romeo... You bad boy... you neighborhood rogue... You know I didn't steel any treats. I got my guardian to do it for me.

I have had problems with fleas too and Lindy has tried a couple of different things. My vet said that the fleas are being so bad this year that almost everybody has had a few. Bad fleas, bad. We've tried FrontLine, BioSpot, back to FrontLine, and then something Lindy got at the grocery store. She said she'd try anything. Mainly I think we just have to wait for the first hard freeze. If you try something that works better than the others, please tell Lindy about it. I'll send her right out to get me some.

One thing the vet said would help my skin is that if Lindy would rinse me off in clean water after I get out of the lake. I don't like that too much but I think it's helping. That and my egg that I get to eat every morning!

    Love,

    Rowan

  • You look so happy shopping. Look at all those treats in the store, if I was there I'd jump right in.
