It's A Dog's Life

This is a great shot of what I look like when I go in the car with Lindy and help her make Milk Bone Money. (That's some magic paper that you can trade for Milk Bones and other treats, in case you didn't know.)

In this shot I am waiting for my friends Daisy and Elmo to come out. I like touching noses with them. They are very fancy dogs, not from the pound like me. But, they never flaunt their pedigree or anything. They are just nice pups.

Hey, can you see that cool reflection of me on the trunk?

Love,

Rowan

This is a picture of the deer that I played with this morning. It seems like a nice deer and, even though she could have run off, she kept coming back to play with me. Lindy said she'd never seen anything like it. She often misunderstands the animal kingdom though.

She is staring me down a little bit in this shot. I have to admit that she was a pretty formidable opponent.

In this shot she has doubled back around from the front of the house and is sneaking up on me. Very crafty. I was ready, though. As soon as she snorted, I took off running as fast as I could.

One time Lindy opened the gate in the fence which seperated me and the deer. I went out there and me and the deer romped around a little bit with Lindy but then I came back in because it wasn't as much fun when I knew that we might really hurt one another. The fence is what makes the game fun.

Plus, and don't say anything to Lindy about this, but Lindy smells like a human. I kinow she can't help it but it's still annoying. Sometimes Lindy tries to mask her human smell by using soap and powder but it really dosen't help much. Don't tell her I said anything about it. I wouldn't want to embarass her. I've noticed that the other humans have the same problem.

You can see that she is flipping her ears in this shot. I do that too.

I guess the thing I admire most about the deer, besides that she can run and jump as good as me, is that she has a really nice set of ears. I mean, you just don't see ears like that everyday.

I am real gald that I've been able to play at my Aunt Jeanne's and Uncle Ted's this week. I've done a real good job of keeping all the critters off the porch and making sure that The Ranch was secure. I even guarded the little lake when Lindy was in it.

I know that I am a good dog and that I did a good job becauseLindy tells me that a lot and it's pretty easy to learn the things you hear all the time.

I hope somebody is telling you good things about yourself all the time too.

Rowan

Here is a great shot of me doing some of my very important duties at the lake.

The way you can tell that I am at the lake is all the water in the distance. That's called a lake. I swim in that lake.

There is a smaller lake near the house for humans only. It is called a pool. I am allowed to drink but not to swim. I guess that's so I won't be distracted from my duties.

Well, I hope you are getting to have some fun and swim in the lake like me.

Recently I got to spend some time with my good buddies Mini and Biggles. Their real names are Mini Me and Mr. Bigglewsworth but we just call each other by our casual names on account of us being such great pals and everything.

Mini and Biggles live with my friends Mr. John and Ms. Gayle. They are real nice humans. I like them a lot. And they have a swell back yard.

Here are a couple of shots of me playing with one of Biggles' toys. Biggles is real swell about stuff like that. He is kind of my boy friend. I mean, we have a special kind of relationship where I do things with Biggles that I wouldn't do with other dogs. You know, unless they were real sexy like Biggles.

Here is another one of me playing with Biggle's toy.

Here is a shot of me guarding the back yard from squirrels and birds and stuff. Despite all the fun times I had, I still had to do my duties by taking good care of Lindy and the other dogs.

Lindy told me that some people don't believe that dogs can really climb trees. Well, just let me submit to you these neet shots of me climbing trees in Mr. John's back yard.

You can see that I am actually very good at it.

I think I look very sporty in this one:

So, you see, I can climb trees. And high up too!

Well, as you can see, I had a real exciting and fun time at Mini and Biggles' house. I also did quite a lot of running and a little barking. I did have some duties to attend. I am, after all, a working dog. But, mainly it was about having fun with my buddies.

Hope you are having fun times with your friends too.

Rowan

I received some very good news the other day. The good news is that my friend, Ms. Elizabeth, was coming over to pet me. Ms. Elizabeth really loves me and that is why she likes petting me a lot.

In this shot Ms. Eliazbeth is giving me a nice head rub. I like that quite a lot.

I hope that your friends are giving you lots of good pets too!

Love,
Rowan
